** ATTENTION ARE YOU USING CANON 5D MKIII **
Or using camera featuring Canon’s Digic 5 software (all new DSLR’s have this)
If you are purchasing our FD-EF adapter for the above camera or if your camera uses Digic 5 software, it requires an upgraded chip, rather than the standard chip we use, this is an upgraded Digic 5 chip, and is currently the only chip that will allow use of our adapter on the 5D MKIII (3) and Canon DSLR’s operating with Digic 5 software. This chip is considerably more expensive and affects the purchase price of the adapter…

As time has passed I wanted to create a product that would be the best possible that I could achieve, yet still affordable to everyone who wanted one, there was no good in producing an adapter that no one would purchase. The current adapter utilises Hoya UD class and cut to critical specification by an Ophthalmologist.
The beauty of the adapter is of course its high quality standard, but to be absolute we have made it both Infinity focus and Macro focus, simply by unscrewing a small thumb screw and removing the glass element you can utilise the adapter fully, so removal of the glass will give you 100% subject transmission Macro mode, but not Infinity Focus, put the glass element back into the adapter and Infinity focus is achievable. Most other manufacturers require 2 separate adapters to obtain these results , but the Lens Doctor adapter is dual purpose This brand new adapter will allow you to use old style Canon FD mount mechanical mount lenses and macro accessories on Canon EOS cameras and is fully interchangeable between FD lenses. With AF confirm this facility utilises the cameras built in electronics to be used in confirming focal point selected.
AF confirm adapter : How does it do it? ............. This AF confirm adapter fools the Canon EOS camera into thinking you have a fully Automatic EF lens in place, and you have switched the toggle switch on the lenses to M (manual). Then by manually focusing the FD lens when you reach focal point the camera uses its Digital electronics and confirms focus through the in built chip on the adapter. So in essence you are using an FD lens, in manual focus but benefiting from all the Digital electronics in the EOS camera, at a fraction of the cost of a EF fully automatic lens. Also in AV mode the camera will calculate your exposure speed, after you have manually selected your desired "F" stop. In many peoples opinion including my own, these FD lenses are far superior to the consumer end Canon EF lenses, that are frequently now unreliable.
PLEASE NOTE: It has come to out attention that OTHER manufacturers products, particularly Far Eastern ones, although they say INFINITY focusing, they DO NOT FOCUS TO INFINITY.
WE have carried out extensive testing on various adapters (16) claiming to have glass to allow infinity focus, in fact the glass is wrongly sized and has the wrong correlation, this does not allow infinity focusing on various FD lenses, including the FD50mm F1.8 but many more. We were horrified testing the FD 35-105 F3.5 macro, this lens was miles out of focusing to infinity.
JUST A HEADS UP BEFORE SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED CASH ON A CHEAPER VARIANT, IF YOU DO AND CANT ACHIEVE INFINITY FOCUS COME BACK AND TRY THE VERY BEST ON THE MARKET , BUT PLEASE BE ADVISED OF THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER MANUFACTURERS PRODUCTS..........

These high quality adapters were brought into manufacturing because of the lack of quality items that were being produced in Far Eastern countries , some of which used cheap plastic lenses in the corrector elements which gave really poor quality performance and reduced I.Q. considerably. Others that actually hit the DSLR mirror shattering the mirror completely.
